The basic requirements for demounting/mounting SSR tyres are as follows:

To fit and remove SSR tyres, mounting equipment suitable for fitting low profile tyres is necessary. Continental recommends to use machines approved for SSR and UHP tires. Fitting machines equipped with plastic rollers for the top and bottom beads are preferred as they prevent rim damage.

A special flat tyre lever with plastic protection and a bead depressor are also required for demounting/mounting SSR tyres.

To avoid damage to the tire during mounting, the upper bead and sidewall area should be at a temperature of at least 15°C.

Ensure you use sufficient tire bead lubricant in the mounting and demounting process.

Please adhere to the usual precautionary safety and protection measures - (work gloves, ear protection and safety shoes). A Safety Cage is necessary if more than 2.75 bar is needed to seat the beads.
